1945 – Plainfield Tobacco and Candy Company was founded in 1945 and located in a store front on East Front Street in Plainfield, NJ

1966 – Plainfield Tobacco and Candy is purchased by Morris and Shirley Resnick and operated along with their son Irving “Babe” Resnick.

1969 - Plainfield Tobacco and Candy moves to new 7000 square feet building located at 123 East Fifth Street in Plainfield, NJ.

1976 – At 40 years old, after being a long time newspaper reporter, Lawrence Resnick joins the Company.

1980 – Morris and Shirley Resnick “retire” to Miami, FL and purchase Miami Tobacco and Candy Company. Along with their son Babe, daughter Francine and son in-law Fred they will continue to operate Miami Tobacco until 2001.

1979 –Purchased Salvin’s Tobacco and Candy Co. located in Plainfield, NJ.

1982 – Purchased South River Tobacco and Candy located in South River, NJ

1987 – Purchased Jo-Ann Candy located in Linden, NJ.

1989 – Moved to new 20,000 square foot facility located at 3605 Park Ave, South Plainfield.

Changed name to Resnick Distributors.

1991 – Resnick Distributors purchased Standard Confectionery in East Brunswick, NJ.

1994 – South Plainfield facility expanded to 40,000 square feet and refrigerated and frozen storage added.

1995 - Begins servicing NYC, DE and MD.

1996 – Resnick becomes a Fundraising master distributor.

1999 - Acquired 103,000 square feet multi-tenant building that would become new 60,000 square foot distribution center.

2001 – Purchased Fernandez Distributors located in Elizabeth, NJ

2007 – Expanded distribution center by 20,000 square feet by taking over tenant occupied space.

Begins servicing Northeast Pennsylvania.

2010 – After leading the company through tremendous growth period Lawrence Resnick retires.

2013 - Expanded distribution center by additional 23,000 square feet and occupies entire complex.

Purchased the convenience store distribution division of Consolidate-Simon Distributors.

Establishes third party logistics operations

2014 – Eileen Resnick retires from Company after 30 years of service.

2016 – To handle the continuous sales growth of the company’s fresh offerings, plans are in the works for an expansion of the company’s refrigerated and frozen storage.
